ANTISEMITIC EXPRESSION: DEMONIZATION 9/14/16 – The IUPUI Black Student Union, IUPUI Africana Studies Program, IUPUI Faculty and Staff for Justice in Palestine, and the IUPUI Millennium Chair of Liberal Arts sponsored the talk, “Racialized States from America to Israel.” During his talk, Dr. Ray demonized Israel, accusing the state of only protecting the rights of “ideal citizens”, which he claimed are Ashkenazi Jews, in order to work towards enforcing the supremacy of the “dominant tribe.” A summary of his talk says that he declared “real peace begins with the recognition that modern nation-states such as America and Israel stole land from indigenous populations.”
DEMONIZATION 3/13/15 – Dr. Norman Finkelstein’s lecture, “Gaza’s Martyrdom and the Future of Palestine,” involved demonizing statements and was sponsored by IUPUI Department of Sociology, Indianapolis Peace and Justice Center, IUPUI Millennium Chair of Liberal ArtsChristians for Peace and Justice in the Middle East (CPJME), Indiana Palestine Solidarity, Jewish Voices for Peace- Indiana , Nur Allah Islamic Center, Students for Justice in Palestine IUPUI, Students for Justice in Palestine UIndy, and the U.S. Campaign for the Academic and Cultural Boycott of Israel (USACBI).
DEMONIZATION 1/30/15 – “Dr. Ilan Pappé gave a talk, “The Ethnic Cleansing of Palestine: Past and Present,” sponsored by two departments – IU School of Liberal Arts Student Council and the IUPUI Political Science Dept – alongside Christians for Peace and Justice in the Middle East, IUPUI Students for Justice in Palestine, IUPUI Muslim Student Association , Jewish Voice for Peace – Indiana, Students for Peace and Justice in Palestine (SPJP Earlham), and UIndy Students for Justice in Palestine. IUPUI Political Science Dept”
BDS ACTIVITY: BDS EVENT 3/8/16 – Interfaith Coalition for Palestine IUPUI held the event, “Why we support the boycott of Israel” on campus. The event featured three faculty speakers, Robert Aponte, Sociology; Edward Curtis, Religious Studies and Lindsay Littrell, Social Work and was supported by IUPUI Faculty and Staff for Justice in Palestine.

10/28/15 – A lecture and book signing event entitled, “Why boycotting Israeli Universities is the right thing to do,” by Prof. Rima Najjar Merriman, Al Quds University, and Prof. Bill Mullen, Purdue University. According to one attendee, during the session, Prof. Rima Najjar Merriman made several overtly anti-Semitic statements, including that Zionism has a “cult-like worship of ethno-racial purity”, that its goal is to “keep Jews racially and culturally pure,” that Jewish influence prevents the truth about the Palestinians’ plight from surfacing, and that Zionist influence has spread throughout the US government.
