    In the News ?

October 13, 2015: Baltimore Jewish Life – Anti Semitic Graffiti Found at Towson University
(Description note, “The first thing I saw was a Jewish star with a cross through it,” said Rebecca, a 19-year-old sophomore from Cedar Grove, New Jersey. “I went back to look at it. On the board was written, ‘Fascism Just Do It’. Underneath that, it said, ‘Hitler was right’. Next to the Jewish star it said, ‘With Jews you lose’. I took pictures of it all. I was pretty upset, really scared and called my friend as I was walking back to my dorm and said, ‘You’ll never guess what I just saw’.”)

October 13, 2015: WBAL – Towson University investigates anti-Semitic postings
(Description note, “The board at Freedom Square included such phrases as “Hitler was right,” “With Jews you lose” and “Fascism just do it.” Photos of the slurs were also circulated on social media.”)

January 8, 2014: UNIVERSITY STATEMENT – TU president, provost oppose boycott of Israeli academic institutions

    April 5, 2011: C.A.M.E.R.A. – Baltimore Sun prints Prof Kimberly Katz’s anti-Israel Polemic
(Description note, “The Baltimore Sun opinion column, Nonviolent protest nothing new in the Middle East (March 7) by Kimberly Katz, an associate professor of Middle East history at Towson University, is a misleading, repeatedly erroneous polemic. Katz promotes the film “Budrus,” about a West Bank village whose residents have protested the route of Israel’s security barrier. She claims it is an example the kind of non-violent demonstrations seen in Tunisia, Egypt and other Arab countries. To do so she implies that a local exception to Palestinian terrorism is representative. The professor also repeatedly — if unacademically — omits or distorts pertinent facts.”)

September 10, 2008: CFCA – USA – Swastika images left on Towson campus
(Description note, “Towson  University police are investigating antisemetic messages left on the campus. School officials said a dozen students found swastikas drawn on their dorm room message boards. “It’s not like it was one door. It was their mission to paint the whole hallway,” said student Jason Conti. Half of the boards were hanging on the doors of rooms belonging to Jewish students. The vandals left the hateful graffiti just before the holiest day of the Jewish calendar: Yom Kippur.”)
